Reviews of The Pearls of Wisdom

The Pearls of Wisdom is crafted beautifully. Presented on glossy pages, alongside its soft artistry, it is pleasing to the touch and eye. Ideal as a gift for children or for bedtime reading, since each chapter tells its own story. There is enchantment woven into the tale that stirs the imagination as it draws the reader into spiritual insights and truths. Adults will love it just as much as the little ones will.

The Pearls of Wisdom is an excellent teaching tool as it serves both simple and complex topics for exploring a path to spiritual enlightenment. The path to reach the individual’s greatest potential and authentic self-empowerment is very much a part of spiritual development. The struggle to overcome obstacles while facing life’s greater challenges calls for courage, strength and fortitude, none of which are easy to find. However, once found they bring forth the wisdom and understanding that spirituality calls. All this and more is incorporated into the themes that address the process of remembering who we truly are and where we come from.

A delightful and inspiring read that hits the core of everything we struggle with through life. Truths we have known the taste of so personally in our own lives are so beautifully and eloquently written. I was crying softly to myself by Chapter one. Add this to your spiritual studies, I beg of you.”

The Pearls of Wisdom is more than a story in book form. It is an instruction manual on how to live and how to focus on what’s most important and yet remain open to all that the universe has to offer…
To truly embrace this gift we have been given called LIFE!

Through her story, Sheri explores all of life’s big questions, and as you read you will find a part of yourself in many of the characters.

As Shalimar grows in age, she grows in wisdom and understanding. In her life’s journey, with its many twists and turns, it leaves the reader anxiously awaiting what will develop in the next chapter – because this is truly a “journey” through life, about life, and about the things we all find difficult to understand.

Death, evil, love, kindness, compassion, wonder, joy, and innocence are all here in this microcosm and macrocosm called The Pearls of Wisdom.

As you read, your heart and mind will find peace and comfort in knowing that all of your own questions are common to everyone, and that all of the answers are available to everyone.

Read and enjoy. What you will walk away with is more than just answers and understanding. It gives “wisdom” – and that is a “magical” thing!

Lively with gorgeous illustrations and a captivating writing style, this story is one that people of all ages, genders, and cultures can relate to and learn from. It is an account of subtle curiosity, profound courage, and fierce grace. The story reveals dimensions that are both mythical and historical. It elegantly mirrors the dynamic tale of humanity’s traumas and discoveries as it follows the life of a gifted child who must learn how to trust the guidance of her deep internal wisdom. While Shalimar is still a girl she becomes aware of the magic that surrounds her by means of connecting with unseen forces in the ocean, the trees, and most importantly, the celestial power that she possesses within herself. Her inquisitive, passionate personality shines through as she grows up in a beautiful castle and learns from the human and nonhuman support she receives. The foretelling of her life’s future hardships continuously lurk nearby. Through tragedy, she discovers the resilience necessary to surpass calamities and to, ultimately, embrace her true nature. She must arise ever stronger amidst her heartbreak in order to become a beacon of inspiration for others. I highly recommend this book. This story called The Pearls of Wisdom is a must read for everyone – young and old.

The story is about magic, about people, about life, and about how we grow. It’s about opening our hearts and minds and letting the universe guide our experiences. I laughed and I cried and at times became uncomfortable when I saw myself in the author’s characters.

An understanding of human nature is Sheri Engler’s gift. She writes about things we have experienced or will experience. This story truly is a guide to what is possible if we are open to what the universe has to offer.

The reader will be taken on a ride with twists and turns. And in each turn you discover new ways of seeing, of believing, and understanding the meaning of life. When you reach the final page you find you have a new inner peace and a better grasp on why we’re here.

It truly is about the journey, not the destination. And it’s about having an open heart and sharing the light of this thought provoking knowledge and magic with others. So we may all be blessed and remember who we are. It was a lesson in finding one’s purpose and true freedom. I highly recommend it and it was a very light, fun, and easy read! I’ll probably read it again. Some of it takes a while to sink in. For me, that’s a sign of a good book. It calls you back.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Pearls of Wisdom. Before I even finished it I knew I wanted to read it again to find those “Pearls of Wisdom” and put them into practice. This is a superbly crafted story about the inner wisdom we have lost over the ages and rediscovering the magic of living in harmony with our natural world. I felt like this book was written for me, to awaken my imagination and to remind me that we have all been given gifts to contribute to our world. The Pearls of Wisdom puts the creative potential God gave us at our fingertips with practical steps to align our awareness with the Divine consciousness and discover those gifts. The story illustrates so beautifully how we lose faith in ourselves through the challenges of life, but that we can learn to trust ourselves again and to truly believe in our natural creativity. The most important secret that we learn in The Pearls of Wisdom is that the magic happens when there is joy in our hearts. This magical tale nurtures the confidence we need in ourselves to create the best of what life can be.

Any good fairy tale has a moral, a truth, or a “pearl of wisdom” embedded within it. This book is no exception. Woven into this beautifully crafted story are the many “pearls,” which offer insights, as well as the tools necessary, to live a fully meaningful, magical life. The reader is drawn in and will experience many aha moments as they link these “pearls of wisdom” together. When applied to one’s life, these “pearls” are transformed from the intellectual or theoretical to the experiential, and magic unfolds. I highly recommend this book. May you experience all of the wonder and blessings that life has to offer.

The Pearls of Wisdom is a multifaceted story that offers meaning to readers of all ages. It transcends time and with each subsequent reading more pearls are found within its covers. It’s a literary classic to be handed down from generation to generation.

In a very magical way, Pearls brought together the beauty of science and the spirit within nature and left me believing in the true essence of humanity’s existence. It reignited the importance of supporting the natural rhythm and harmony of a healthy global community. It showed me that believing in magic truly is the magic of believing.

The Pearls of Wisdom sheds light on the fact that at a young age we give away important aspects of ourselves to fit in and be loved. We no longer nurture and grow into our authentic selves, but are shaped by external validation from the pressures of the world around us. In this way, the true potential of our lives is stunted. Pearls empowers its readers to explore their strengths, weaknesses and talents and cultivate their garden of life. It’s transformational within each page that is turned.

From the time we’re born we face many challenges that test our faith. The Pearls of Wisdom contains a cornucopia of tools to keep within your toolbox of life. The challenges Princess Shalimar faces are our own. I wish I had been introduced to those tools at a young age to nurture and accompany me on my journey.

Through its endearing characters and eventful fairytale plot, The Pearls of Wisdom reminds me of humanity’s origins and the gift of existence we have all been given. It exposes the need to co-exist and manifest within the creative essence of the natural seen and unseen magic that surrounds us. It sends me searching for the spark that ignites my authentic self and fuels my desire to make the most of who I am. It brings enlightenment and fills my heart with joy.

With gratitude for the rekindling,

WL

The human experience is essentially a “hero journey” through the vast unknown of our inner universe. This is where we discover our strengths and weaknesses, our hopes and fears. Joseph Campbell writes, “The hero journey is inside of you…open the mystery of yourself.”

In Sheri Engler’s wonderfully crafted tale, we accompany the fearless heroine, Princess Shalimar, and the many other colorful characters in her life, on her remarkable journey within. We are given the opportunity to observe Shalimar as she is presented with situations, which demand her to interpret these life events from the heart, rather than the fear-based mind. In our human experience, we often fall folly to the fear-based mind, limiting us, and trapping us in a web of negative emotions. We learn from her experiences that if she keeps her heart open, not only does she avoid the storms of internal conflict, she discovers within herself life’s most beautiful gift… “love.”

Life experiences, no matter how large or small, are put in front of us for a reason. Many times they serve to bring the very things we resist and fear most to the forefront of our consciousness, so we may ultimately transcend them. In this way, Shalimar’s journey is like our own. Through her, we experience life’s deepest truths and secrets of the universe that are skillfully embedded into the story as Shalimar’s life unfolds. This hidden wealth of information that once was natural to our cultures has regrettably been lost by modern society.

We must take care to remember that every aspect of life is “magic” — even the most mundane things we often take for granted. When we shift our perspective, our consciousness shifts with it. And soon those things that seemed like miracles become the simple nature of our existence. We realize that life is not at all what we’ve been conditioned to believe. Those of us who are brave enough to wake up—to the reality of what is—will verily discover that the secrets of the universe have always resided within. Once we understand that we can use this knowledge, we will enjoy life with greater zest, wonderment, and meaning.

It is this very message that Ms. Engler expertly shares with her own pearls of wisdom. She paints with her words and imagination a picture of what I believe life was meant to be —and still can be. The enchanting essence of this book will stand the test of time, while offering us higher knowledge and deeper insight into ourselves and the world around us. The message is as timeless as our consciousness is eternal. The Pearls of Wisdom is a magical book we can return to, time after time, if not just to remind our “self” that the journey of life is supposed to be fun!

I rarely sit down and read a book from beginning to end, but The Pearls of Wisdom pulled me in immediately and I could not put it down. Not only is it beautifully written and illustrated, every chapter is filled with moving life lessons that speak directly to the heart. It is full of rich and colourful imagery and poetic verses that spark the imagination at every turn. Written from the touching perspective of Shalimar, a brave young princess, the story takes us on a riveting journey as she overcomes all odds to embrace her inner gifts of wisdom and magic. She must overcome self-doubt, loneliness, grief, and the harsh judgement or jealousy of those who fail to understand her unique abilities. With faith, courage, and the support of her spirit guides, Shalimar rises above these challenges to serve as a great leader for her people.  It is ultimately an uplifting story about the divine feminine that rests within us all, and the great potential of young women who are encouraged to flourish and lead with their many gifts.

There have been many stories written about female empowerment with young readers in mind. However, what sets this one apart is its deep and subtle focus on the processes of spiritual growth and the magic that unfolds when one embodies a high vibration of wonder, joy, and freedom. Shalimar learns to manifest a pearl when she “combined her heart, mind, and body into One with spirit and as spirit.” She becomes pure vibrational energy, a feat that allows her to transcend the barriers between the physical and spiritual realms. As she delves deeper into this great mystery, Shalimar journeys through the entire spectrum of human experience, from the darkest depths of loss and despair to her eventual rebirth as a wise and compassionate leader. She discovers the astounding power of belief, the complex rhythms of the natural world, and the many voices of the spirit realm that come forth when one learns to listen deeply. It is much more than a story about finding one’s confidence and courage, it is also a roadmap for the soul’s journey through the worlds of the seen and unseen. Although the story appears simple on the surface, it is surprisingly deep in meaning. I found myself rereading passages to soak in the layered metaphors and symbolism.

I would highly recommend this story to anyone who is interested in self-discovery, adventure, intuition, and the world of spirit and magic. And I would especially recommend it to those who would enjoy a refreshing view of life’s hidden secrets that can still be found  in this complicated age we live in, once we learn to simply pay attention.
